Thursday, November 19th, 2008

Well, Thursday, November 19th, 2008, after school, I had dance from 5-8:30 and it was also watching week. I was going back to acro after taking a week off because of homework. The first half hour of class was great, I was doing really well, then when we got to bouncing front tucks on the trampoline, thats when everything started going down hill. As i was doing my front tuck, I landed on my heels and my left knee hyperextended my knee backwards. I refused to go to the emergency room, so I sat out for the rest of my class. Then I went and watched my musical theatre class. They used props like they do in Whose Line is it Anyway, when they use the props as something it really is not. I was upset I could not participate. Then I went and watched my pointe class. I was really looking forward to class earlier that day, and then I got really upset when I got hurt. After, my pointe class, I found out that me, Jess McKinnon and Joey Diaz won Mrs. McKinnon at the teacher auction for only $5. I am excited that I get to follow her around this years again, and teacher her spanish classes. Me and Jess won her last year for $60. I am surprised how low the price is. Senora Ruch went for almost $300 last year, and this year she only went for $25. Wow.... Well I gotta go. Talk to everyone later. <3, Brianna

Who Am I? can you guess who it is?

Did you ever know a person who can speak different languages and then accidentally say the wrong meaning of a phrase to a stranger? Unfortunately, that is what happened to poor Isabella. Isabella’s mom gave her a trip to Paris, France as a Christmas gift, and when she first got to France, she went up to a resident who lived in France, and tried to ask where her hotel was, but instead she ended up saying, “I think your shirt is ugly.” Isabella ran away from the guy. She just started running, and eventually she found her hotel.
When she got into the hotel, she checked into her room, and called her mom. She picked up the phone and dialed her home phone number. When her mother Elizabetha picked up the phone, she said, “What’s the matter sweetheart?”
Isabella replied, “I went up to someone who lives here and tried to ask him where my hotel was, but I ended up saying your shirt is ugly.”
“Don’t worry about it sweetheart,” said Elizabetha. “I am sure he can see that you are a newcomer to the country and are not that great at speaking the language. Think about it, you have only been studying the language for about three years now, and you really shouldn’t be an expert at it yet. You are still learning.”
“I know, mother,” replied Isabella. “But what happens if he doesn’t think that way and he actually thought that I meant to insult him?”
“What did I say, Isabella?” replied Elizabetha questioningly.
“Okay mother,” said Isabella.
“Please just enjoy your stay while you are in Paris honey. This trip was not cheap, but it was worth it for you. Hopefully you learn some new things while you are here.” said Isabella’s mother.
“Okay mom. I will. I will talk to you later. I love you, and I will see you when I get home,” said Isabella.
“Okay sweetheart. I love you too. Bye,” said Elizabetha.
“Bye,” replied Isabella. She hung up the phone and went over to her bag and unpacked her things. Once she was all unpacked, she went to explore the hotel. While she was exploring, she discovered the gift shop, where she found and purchased a book that would help newcomers learn the language easily. After she purchased the book, she went back up to her room and she read through the book. That night as Isabella was sleeping, all that was going through her head was the flashback of her accidentally saying the wrong phrase to the French resident. The next couple of days as Isabella was exploring Paris, she could not find the man she accidentally insulted. She really wanted to apologize to him, since now she knew from reading the book. Finally on her last day in Paris, she ran into him, and she apologized and told him what she was trying to actually say and he forgave her. Isabella was so happy he did, so she ran back to her hotel to call her mom. She picked up her phone and dialed home. Her mother picked up the phone.
“Hello?” asked Elizabetha.
“Hi mom,” replied Isabella.
“How is everything?” asked Isabella’s mom.
“Great!” replied Isabella. “The minute after I talked to you, I went to explore the hotel, and in the gift shop I found a book that would help me speak the language easier so I bought it and that night I read it.”
“That’s good,” said Elizabetha.
“Yeah, and it even helped me to apologize and tell the man that I accidentally insulted my first day here, what I was actually trying to say,” said Isabella
“I am so happy for you honey.” replied her mother.
“Well, I have to go pack for the flight home. I have so much to show and tell everybody.” said Isabella.
“Okay sweetheart. See you when you get home. Have a safe flight. I will meet you at the airport,” said Elizabetha.
“Okay mom, thanks and I love you too. Bye,” said Isabella.
“Bye,” said Elizabetha.
Isabella hung up the phone, packed up her luggage, checked out of the hotel, went to the airport and she was on her way home. She could not wait to tell her family and friends about what happened her first time and day in a new country.

Butterfly Kisses

here's two things I know for sure:
She was sent here from heaven and she's daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes and
I thank god for all the joy in my life
Oh, but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer;
sticking little white flowers all up in herhair;
"Walk beside the pony, Daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, Daddy, but I sure tried.
"In all that I've done wrong I know I must
have done something right to deserve a hug
every morning and butterfly kisses at night.
Sweet 16 today
She's looking like her mama a little more everyday
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and make-up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world.
But I remember
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer; sticking
little white flowers all up in her hair."You know how much I love you, Daddy, But if you
don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time."With all that I've done wrong I must have done
something right to deserve her love every morning
and butterfly kisses at night.
All the precious time
Like the wind, the years go by.
Precious butterfly.
Spread your wings and fly.
She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.
She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm notsure-I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."She leaned over...gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there,
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk my down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time.""Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry!"
Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must have
done something right.
To deserve your love every morning and butterflykisses-
I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is.
I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember
every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses.

At my very first recital, this is the song they played when I came out, and this song is just a beautiful song.
Sha-la-la-la-la, sha-la-la-la-la
You used to call me your angel
Said I was sent straight down from heaven
You'd hold me close in your arms
I loved the way you felt so strong
I never wanted you to leave
I wanted you to stay here holding me
[CHORUS:]
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
You used to call me your dreamer
And now I'm living out my dream
Oh how I wish you could see
Everything that's happening for me
I'm thinking back on the past
It's true that time is flying by too fast
[CHORUS]
I know you're in a better place, yeah
But I wish that I could see your face, oh
I know you're where you need to be
Even though it's not here with me
[CHORUS x2]

I Miss You by Miley Cyrus is one of my all time favorite songs. Its dedicated to her grandfather who passed away, and its just a really nice song, that became my favorite song. :-)

The Air Force base

My family lives on an air force base, so everyday I hear the planes’ engines roaring. I sit in my living room and as I try to watch my favorite television channel, comedy central. I was watching my all time favorite ventriloquist, Jeff Dunham, and all I hear was that as the plane started to head down the long black runway, and its engines were roaring so loud that my house started to shake. I yelled to my mom, “Mom, the house is shaking again. Doesn’t that give you any clue that we really move away from here?”
“Well sweetheart, right now there is no extra money to go out looking for a house. I am still trying to find another job, and your father’s paychecks go towards the bills and groceries.” My mom said. “So for now, we are stuck in this house until we start to get more money coming into this family. I’m sorry sweetheart.”
“It’s okay mom. There is really nothing you could do about it. It’s not your fault that the job you were working went out of business. You didn’t know that when you applied there way back when.” I said.
“Hey, lets’ not go there, alright? I do not want to start a fight.” replied my mom.
“Sorry mommy,” I replied.
“It’s okay sweetheart.” She replied.
I returned back to the living room, and continued to watch my show. Then after a while, I got bored so I decided to go for a walk. I walked over to the air force base, and went inside the building to see Harry, the owner of the air force base.
“Hey Harry.” I said. “How are you today?”
“I’m good Julietta, how are you?” said Harry.
“I’m great. I came over to see what is up over here. I heard the jets of the airplanes shaking my house.’ I said.
“Oh, well sorry about that,” said Harry.
“It’s okay. There is nothing you could do about it.” I said. “Well I have to get going now. I will talk to you later.”
“Bye.” said Harry.
I walked back home again, sat on my couch in my big spacious room, turned on my humongous screen television and started watching a movie. I somehow turned the noise of the jets out of my head from then on whenever I was inside my house. From that day forward, I never heard the jets. I got used to the noise after a while, so I just tuned it out of my head.

My narrative essay

It was a snowy cold December morning, and as I walked to my bus stop, I wondered what my mom would be getting me for Christmas. She told me it would be something special, if I get rid of some things I love. It was the most wonderful time of the year, and c'mon, who deosnt love Christmas, besides the Grinch. It's the most beautiful scene, especially if there is snow. Even if there was no snow, the scenes of the lights on the houses that are all decorated are beautiful. As I sit on the bus, I just keep thinking and thinking. As I arrive to school, I walk off the bus; inside the school, I go to my locker, then I go to my homeroom.
All day i just sit there and I daydream, and wonder what she could be possibly get me for Christmas, and what was that one or couple of things I have to get rid of. Then, as I was thinking, my teacher Mrs. Mercready was trying to call on me. She was sitting there saying, "Brianna, what is a molecular compound?' and of course because I was in my own land, i didnt hear her. So, Mrs. Mercready sat there saying, "Brianna, Brianna, Are you okay?'
Then I finally snapped out of it, and said, "Oh sorry, I was just daydreaming about Christmas. It's my most favorite time of the year! I love spending time with my family. Some people like Christmas just for the presents, but not me. I love it because of the family bonding time."
"That's okay, but lets get back to chemistry now," said Mrs. mercready pleasantly.
I told her I was sorry and I began to pay attention. The next period, in gym, I began to daydream again, and the next thing I knew, I got hit in the face really har by a volleyball. My gym teacher Mr. Peterson came over to me and said, "Brianna, Are you okay? You jsut got hit pretty hard in the face with a volleyball. Are you sure you don't want to go to the nurse?"
I told him, "I'm okay. The side of my face kinda hurts pretty bad, and I have a splitting headache."
So again he asked me, "Would you like to go to the nurse? I will give you a pass so that you could go."
"No, I am good," I said. "I really don't like to go to the nurse unless it is an emergency. I will just rest in my next period class. Thanks for caring though." And he walked away. The rest of the day I just kept daydreaming and getting in trouble.
At the end of the school day, I go to my locker, get my homework and walk out to my bus. As I was on my way to my bus, my friend Katie stops me and asks, "Bri, are you okay? You have been getting hurt, and in trouble all day."
So I nicely tell her, "Yes I am okay. I have just been thinking about what my mom was going to get me for Christmas and she said it would be something special if I got rid of one or a couple of things that I loved."
"Oh, okay," Katie said. "Well, I will see you later."
I said "Okay, bye." and we both walked to our buses, and got on. When I got home from school, I found my mom cleaning my room getting rid of some old things. I walked over to the box, and lying there right on top was my American girl dolls. I walked over to my mom and said, "Mom, why are my American girl dolls in a box?"
She said, "Remember I told you that in order to get your special Christmas present you have to get rid of a couple of things? Well, I picked the couple old things out. These are all the toys that you don't need anymore."
Then I said, "But mom, I really wanted t collect them. Why are you getting rid of them?'
Then she said," Because you are 16 years old,and you shouldn't be collecting or playing with dolls anymore. You need to grow up. You are a junior in high school. There is a little girl out there somewhere who doesn't even have a doll."
Then I said, " Well instead of getting rid of them or selling them to a stranger, couldn't I just give them to little cousin Keryn? She loves to play with them and collect them, and besides she is only 9."
"Sure," my mom replied.
So the rest of the day, I spent my time playing with them for the last time. I din't care how old I was, no one is too old for dolls. I sat there and played with them as if they were my daughters. I changed their outfits, and did their hair so that it looked really nice. The next day, I took my dolls, and put them on my bed. Then, I took the beds that I had for them, and put them in the bottom of the box. After that, I took all the clothes I had for my American girl dolls, folded them neatly, and put them into the box. Then as I said goodbye to my dolls, I put them into the box one by one. As I was putting them into the box, I began to cry. I shut the box, and carried it out of my room. As I was walking out of my room, I saw my mom standing by the doorway in my room.
"Bri, are you going to be okay?" my mom said. "I know it's hard to get rid of something you love, but you have to have to do it sometime, and you know that they are going to a great home. Your little cousin will take great care of them. Snd think about it, now you will be getting something special for Christmas.
"I know," I said. "But I really loved them, and they kept me busy, and company when I was all alone or grounded."
"I know, honey," my mom said. "But you have to say goodbye to them sometime."
"I know," I said. "I guess they will be in a great place. Keryn loves the American girl dolls she has now. I know she will love mine just the same. And I even have the three dolls, and the two beds, and some clothes that she doesn't have."
After that, my mom had me put the box in the car. We sat down and talked for a while, hugged and cuddled. Then she drove me over to my Aunt's house. When I gave keryn the box, she quickly opened it, and when she saw what was inside, she had a really big smile on her face. I was glad to see the smile on her face when I gave her the box. i definately knew this was the best home for my American girl dolls, and I couldn't wait for Christmas to see what my special Christmas present was going to be. When Christmas morning arrived, I opened my present, and it was the motorized scooter with a seat that I have been begging my mom to get me! I was so excited.

Jen and Brianna's Halloween story

It was a dark and stormy Halloween night. Ten year old Timmy was home alone. All of the trick-or-treaters had come and gone, and Timmy decided to settle down for a quiet hour with his video games before turning in for the night. Suddenly he heard a sound at the window.
"Sccccccrrrraaaatch!!!"
"What was that?" he cried. No sooner had he spoken taht there came a thump at the door. Timmy ran to the door and flinging it open, discovered that there on his front step lay a severed head.
The head was covered in blood. Its eyes were glazed over and its skin was waxy. Its face looked familiar. I couldn't tell where I knew it from. I felt all my Halloween candy coming back up. I sprinted to the bathroom. I regurgitated the candy into the toilet. Unfortunately it did not taste as good coming up as it did going down.
Then I realized that i left the front door open. I ran to the door. The head was now sitting on my carpet and the door had been slapped shut. Then I smelt something sweet. It smelt like ketchup. We had steak for dinner, so there is no reason my house should smell like ketchup. I looked down at the severed head, I bent down and smelt the blood covering its face. It wasn't blood, it was ketchup.
Then I remembered where that head was from. My older brother Mario had been the headless horseman for Halloween a couple of years ago. This was the head he carried around. I heard another scratch at the door. I jumped but I knew it was only Mario and his friends because I heard themchuckle. They must have thrown the ketchup covered head at the door. I quickly picked up the head and snuck out the back door.
I tip toed to the side of the house. I heard them chuckling again. They must have been hidden in the bushes. I hurled the severed head into the bushes and laughed as they screamed like 7 year old girls and took off running down the street.
